The Problem
Site were regularly having positive Legionella samples from their Process System. Poor system management and site didn’t understand their roles and responsibilities under the ACoP L8 and HSG 274.
The Solution
After a Risk Assessment was carried out it was determined that a full system disinfection of the services be carried out, site staff to be suitably trained and a weekly pasteurisation of the system be carried out.
The Outcome
We now carry out regular sampling for Legionella Bacteria. We completed a Legionella Awareness training course for the site staff and implemented a new written scheme and control measures and the system in compliant.
