Industrial and Manufacturing site in Edinburgh

Site contacted us with a problem with their surface water as samples taken from the local water board had shown high levels of Ammonia and they were ready to shut the plant down until it was sorted.

We carried out hourly ammonia samples on the system for a period of a week and they were sent to a UKAS accredited independent laboratory for analysis. We helped to determine when the high levels were showing and under what conditions.

It was determined from the analysis that there was an issue crossed between the old surface water and the foul sewer. Site have now corrected the problem and current monitoring has been reduced but the samples are now within guidelines.
