The client had to prepare the chilled water pipework within a multi floor office building for daily use following a period of 9 years when the system was not in operation and had subsequently become fouled with bacterial growth and corrosion deposits.

M&S Water Services Limited carried out a chemical clean using dispersant and biocide which displaced and neutralised the bacterial growth and corrosion deposits. All filters and strainers were checked and replaced, inhibitor added and glycol freeze protection dosed into the chilled water to allow very low temperature operation.

The chilled water system was reinstated and runs at full capacity. All deposits were removed and the water is analysed at regular intervals to ensure it is clean and contains the required chemical reserves for full corrosion and freeze protection.
