The customer had a steam boiler that was running inefficiently due to high scale deposits on the tubes and internal surfaces. Constant reduction of steam pressure was causing loss of production time damage to the product.

M&S Water Services Limited added an organic sulphamic acid to the boiler and filled the unit to capacity allowing contact with all internal surfaces. The acid dissolved the scale within two days and when the boiler was drained all deposits were removed from the base leaving the tubes and internal surfaces clean and free of scale.

The steam boiler was returned to use and a comprehensive chemical programme was put in place by M&S Water Services Limited to prevent scale and corrosion formation in the future. The steam boiler now runs efficiently with no loss of production time.
